She wanted to heal
But day after day
She would lift up the band aid
And find yet a bleeding heart
That just won’t heal.
She searched far and wide
For a healing that would take the pain away
But she couldn’t find any-
Every process of healing
Ripped her heart apart.
She stopped trying to heal
Rather, she embraced the pain
As her very own skin
She held on to her heart
For even though it was bleeding, it was all she had.
