The year started with a social media rave around the #10yearchallenge. Basically, this involves juxtaposing a picture from 10 years back with a more current picture of you. From the pool of pictures I found on Instagram, some changes were so obvious, while others not too obvious. Point is, you’re not the same person you were 10 years ago.
While I can easily use that as a daily mantra, I know that it’s not always true for me- except I’m now a Mercedes. It almost feels as if there’s this innate desire in man to get approval; from parents, from peers, from society and even from God. We want to be validated for being in the right or being someone they could be proud of. Read more
People don’t have a problem telling you your dream is impossible to achieve or you’re ludicrous to be thinking that way. At the same time, people have no problem coming to celebrate with you saying ‘I knew you would make it!’ It’s almost like they start by saying this dream is impossible, however, I’d like to see you make it.
