Happy New Month!

Wow! It’s already the third month of 2023! It feels very fast and slow at the same time. Like so many things are happening in such a little time. Whew! This can be overwhelming. Or maybe you’re experiencing more of the feeling that time is going but nothing seems to be happening for/to you. I understand that all too well.

In the midst of chaos and uncertainties, there’s still room for gratitude. I’ve learned that gratitude is not always a function of our circumstances. Gratitude comes from the heart. It’s a dogged belief that in spite of what is going on around us or in our lives, there’s always a reason to be grateful.

I am embarking on a 30-Day Gratitude Challenge to intentionally spend my days this month being grateful. It may be hard at first, to find reasons to be grateful (especially if you’re going through difficult seasons right now). But trust me, you’ll always find reasons to be thankful when you go looking.

Please join me on this journey of gratitude. Grab your journal or notepad on your phone.

I’m using this template by PageFlutter as a guide for this challenge. The prompts are pretty simple and fun. You can check out their website for other helpful resources.

Let’s do this!

Day One: Say Thank you to Someone You Appreciate

Today particularly, I’ve found reasons to say ‘thank you’ to a couple of family members who showed up for me in ways I wasn’t expecting. My heart brimmed with joy and gratitude at their acts of kindness. It was such a great way to begin the month!

As I ponder on the many reasons I have to be grateful, I just want to thank God for always making a way for me when there was physically none. After all these years, He still surprises me!

Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good. – Maya Angelou.

It’s your turn. Say thank you to someone you appreciate!

See you next time!
