She loved the night.

She loved the vulnerability that was found under the moonlight;

The silver tears and muffled cries on squeezed pillows.

She loved the night.

She loved how the face was bare of every makeup and pretense,

How the body was unclothed from luxury and status,

She loved the night.

Because that’s how she could see the raw and uncut version of you.

You were truly good company.

So she said, “One night, let’s just refill our coffee mugs and talk till the sun comes out.”
