Day 28: The month you were happiest this year and why

We can all agree that some months are better than others. Some months are long and slow with nothing exciting going on. A few others are fast and full of adventures. Then there are some others that are plain tough and draggy; when 31 days feel like a year because the pain would not go away. But through it all, I recall that there’s a time for everything. A time to be happy and a time to be sad. A time to have the best days and a time to have the worst. For me, the month I was happiest was the end of July to the end of August.

August was a new dawn, a new day and a new life for me…and I was feeling good! Sorry I couldn’t help introducing Nina Simone’s lyrics. Lol.

Yeah, August was a month of light after a gloomy two months had passed. A new life beckoned as I had been blessed with an exciting opportunity to work where I’d have my favourite beverage every morning (Did I hear you say coffee or cocoa? How about both?!) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜. It was a new chance to meet great industry minds after my coursework had been completed. To top it, I met amazing people I didn’t even know existed. People that were all I ever imagined. πŸ’™

I was at my happiest because I had made peace with my past. I was also at peace with the fact that my school chapter was slowly closing and I was gonna face the real world. I was happy because God finally healed me and I could genuinely laugh again.

While I celebrate that month, I’m also grateful for the lessons I learnt from the not so good months. I’m thankful to be alive. Even on days when I hate waking up, I’m reminded to be thankful.

Just today on my way coming back home, I saw a fresh accident involving a huge truck and three other SUVs. I felt the chills. It’s like one minute you’re here and the next you’re gone. What’s a bad month compared to never seeing another day?

We all need to be grateful for the good and the bad. Remember, it could be worse…but God!

Two more days people! πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

Thank you for participating!

Love,

M.
