The rate at which cars break down in Lagos can be frustrating sometimes; as this often accounts for unprecedented traffic. But then, it’s incredible to see how efficient the authorities are in handling broken down vehicles. They’d always send a tow truck to the rescue.

Without a doubt, tow trucks are life savers! You know, as much as you’re more of a victim when your car breaks down and you’re almost helpless, other road users still see you as the villain, causing hold up and what not. But the tow truck comes and it’s almost like it’s saying ‘hey, I’ve got you. Just hop on my back and I’ll take you to safety’.

We break down sometimes. Everyone does. And we are all in need of the tow truck for our weary souls. Jesus said cast your cares upon me, for I care for you (1 Pet 5:7). He’s got our backs even when people see us as being a useless piece of crap standing in their way. He picks us up and takes us to safety.

Another thing I’ve observed about tow trucks is that there are different types for different vehicles. You could have one that would pull a 46-passenger bus and another that could pull a regular SUV. Likewise, regardless of our various capacities or the level to which we’ve broken down, we all need the ultimate tow truck; the one who pulls us through the storms of life. Who doesn’t care how damaged we are or how heavy our souls weigh. But rather seamlessly carries us through on his back.

The anatomy of a tow truck is unique in a way that makes it strong enough to pull the next vehicle. It’s not built as the regular cars. There’s only so far another car can pull you. Sometimes, I see some 18-passenger buses clinging to each other for support; one pushing the other. Of course, other humans will help you. But there’s only so much they can do for you. Eventually, they would get weakened by your heaviness or just get tired of your weariness. People can push us – just like the buses do. But when it comes to pulling the weight, be sure to get disappointed.

It’s not their fault of course! We all have enough cares in this world, to think of helping another person carry theirs. Jesus is the only one that can really pull us through life. He has made human helpers available to push us. But when push comes to shove, you need a tow truck on the line.

I don’t know what you’re going through. I don’t know how many people you’ve tried to explain stuff to but still don’t get it. I do know you need a tow truck and you’ve gotta call for one ASAP!

Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God. – Psalm 40:17

Hold on, help is on the way!

That alone is my take home word for the week.
In a world 🌏 of more than 7 billion people, 7 continents.
    A man said
    Cast your cares upon me
I wonder how big His Heart and hand will be to be able to relief all of their burdens.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged.

  2. A very good way of reminding us that we need a “tow truck” at times ourselves! Good post, M!
