A day will come when I would walk into this room and you won’t be here
Your black orchid scent will cease from lingering
Your music will stop playing in the background
Your resounding laughter will fade away
And all I’ll be left with are your memories
Pictures patched together
Making my mind a scrapbook
I’ll miss how we bounced others from the squad
How we were content being just by ourselves
In silence, in giggles
In disappointments, in celebrations
Through pizza and KFC buckets
We weren’t always this tight and supportive
We grew to become this-
And I hope it doesn’t all end here
Not today at least.
I smile as I recall the day we played our different throwback playlists
You sure knew how to make me feel really young
By playing songs from when I was born
There’s that your evil laughter again, filling my mind
I learned more from you than from anyone else here
You taught me what I couldn’t read about or even Google- fancy googling how to get OT
Tenderly, you opened my mind to view the world differently
Those eight hours I spent daily with you, I wouldn’t trade for anything
I dread the day
When I’ll come into this room
And be mocked by the silence
While my mind plays the scenes all over again
More than just colleagues
More than friends
We were a family
And I’ll forever cherish that.

Awwwww. It’s deep. Legit deep. I still do not understand it *haha*. I have a feeling Mercy Kwabe did, because she re-tweeted the post.
Lemme read it again and again 🙂
Now, that’s some truth. Weldone!
