Five Top moments in my Life

It’s another beautiful day! The sun is shining after a heavy downpour, the birds are chirping with careless abandon and I’m wishing I could hold back the hands of time so this doesn’t end already.

It’s been a journey with new lessons to learn everyday. Although we’ve got 4 more days left for the challenge, don’t lose hope. They’ll be freshly baked blog posts for you regularly. Feel free to explore the different categories on the menu. I also feature guest posts that are in line with visions of the blog. Check out the ‘Contact me’ tab for more information

Here are my 5 top moments in life so far;

5) Seeing my results; I’ve always pushed myself so much that I tend not to appreciate ‘good’ grades as long as they are not the ‘best’. Funny how God kept my ‘best’ grades for the last semester in university where I stopped trying so hard but just surrendered to His will. Turns out, He really does step in when we stop struggling to do it by our own strength.

4) Graduation; this was a big one for me. I had all my family and friends present to grace the occasion. Twas so beautiful! And of course, there was a lot of food and cake. I still reminisce that day and the happiness I felt  causes my face to break into a big smile 🙂

3) Birthdays; I love birthdays cause it’s a special day for me- a day to unwrap gifts and eat cake 😀 I try to celebrate every birthday with a few friends and family and it’s always been one of my top moments. Oh yeah, you also get to see the pictures people have of you when they make you their display picture for the day. Lol.

2) First day I spoke in tongues; this is one of the top moments of my life because for a long while I couldn’t speak in tongues and I felt crippled without it. Yeah, I had been baptised with the Holy Ghost but there was no evidence of speaking in tongues. It was so depressing to go for prayer meetings and hear people pray in unknown tongues and I’d be there struggling with the right or wrong English to speak to God.

When it finally came after much expectation, it felt strange; kinda like waking up to discover you can speak fluent Spanish. Prayers became smoother for me afterwards. I could easily pour out personal heart cries without being afraid that the next person would hear me.

If you praise him in the private language of tongues, God understands you but no one else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him- 1 Cor 14:2 (MSG)

It’s important for Christians to speak in the Spirit as well as in our understanding. Don’t limit your Christian life to speaking in the understanding alone.  And if you’ve been like me, praying for tongues and yet not seeing the evidence even after the baptism of the Holy Spirit, don’t give up. It will come. And it will be an amazing moment for you like it was for me. Just hold on.

1)New birth; for every Christian, new birth is like a birthday to be celebrated. It’s a turning point from darkness to light; death to life. Sorry to burst your bubble, but no one is born a Christian in the real sense of it. Even when you’re born into a family of saints who speak in fiery tongues, that still doesn’t make you a born again Christian. There’s got to be a day when you consciously make the decision to surrender your life to the one who gave up his for you.

I don’t view Christianity as just a religion to be ticked when filling out forms-it’s more than that! It goes way beyond the church pews. It’s a relationship with the one who loves you the most and died for you. It’s a heart bubbling experience; the union with divinity. Words can’t describe it. No earthly knowledge or wisdom can decipher the depth thereof.

If you haven’t experienced this life transforming moment yet, please take some time out and say this little prayer;

Dear Father, I know I’m a sinner and I can’t help myself. I’m tired of struggling with the baggage of sins I can hardly even tell anyone about. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I believe my sins were nailed to the cross. I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour. From today, I choose to live for you and you alone. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

As short as that prayer may seem, it’s very powerful! If you said this prayer from your heart, please visit a Bible teaching church and get rooted in the faith as you walk daily in the newness of life. I’m excited about your glorious destiny!

    No, I’m not speaking in tongues here, you just have to read it backwards (from right to left). Don’t make me take off running around this house!!! Hallelujah & Amen!
